Widget came to us as a 4 year old miniature, Jenny, donkey who was donated by her owner for our blind horse program.
Widget is a service donkey for our boarded blind horse, Annie. This is a new project we implemented to help our blind horses that has proven to be a huge success. Blind horses get scared very easily especially by loud noises and they are restricted on their movement because of their vision. The service donkeys not only provide companionship and guidance but they also provide protection from stray dogs, coyotes etc.
