Harley
Harley is a beautiful donkey with a curly coat and soft mane. Harley was found abandoned with a pony. Both of them had excessively long hooves that were curled over 8". After being examined by our vet, x-rays showed that both Harley and the pony were foundered and the pony had to be put down. Harley's joints had fused so we were able to save her. Harley walks with a limp as she cannot flex the lower part of her front legs, but she happily ambles around the property with Widget and Boots. Harley is under regular farrier care to prevent any hoof rotation. Harley is a little wild as Jo cannot train her due to her disability. She can be extremely affectionate one minute and a quite ornery the next.
Harley is in need of an additional sponsor to cover her farrier cost of $30 per month. Whether you sponsor $10, $20 or $30 per month, it all adds up to make a difference in our equines lives.
